It automatically fails if the target is intelligent.</p><p></p><p>This spell only effects the caster and cannot be cast on another person. For each casting, the caster may only designate one writing surface on which to use this spell.</p><p></p><p><em>Material Component</em>: A piece of chalk or charcoal, or dab of fresh ink, or other writing substance; the material used must be appropriate for the substance being written on (ie - chalk/charcoal for wood or stone, ink for parchment, etc.)</p><p></p><p><strong>Specifics</strong>:</p><p>In our campaign, we have a mute spellcaster who cannot speak. This spell, along with others, is intended to allow him to communicate with others easily. He usually uses standard methods (paper and pen, personal chalkboard), but they don't help at a range. The character would use this spell to basically write on the wall, so to speak, to communicate with another. For example, he might help coordinate with a friend in jail how the party plans to break him out, but because the words disappear, the passing guard won't read them on his rounds.</p><p></p><p><strong>Opinions, please!</strong> Does this look balanced?</p></blockquote><p></p>
