Shape magic exploit?

So, do 30th-level archmages get all their daily spells functioning as encounter spells?

After all, if Shape Magic is an arcane power, it's a spell. Since it's daily, it's a daily spell.

If it's a daily spell, then archmages can pick it with Archspell.

Then, whenever they can recover an encounter power, they can recover Shape Magic. So by taking multiple short rests, they can recover multiple uses of Shape Magic, and thus whatever daily spells they use.

Is there a problem here?

It's been said (not sure where, and can't check at work) that epic powers have no power source. Possibly the article on powers.

So sorry, this doesn't work.

I dunno, it says Shape Magic is a Utility Spell, not a simply Daily Spell. So while the Utility Spell is only Daily-usable, it isn't classified under Daily Spells... Hope that makes sense.

Edit: Also what the The_Fan said. This is noticeable with Shape Magic since it doesn't state Arcane beside the Daily in the Power Box.

Can't see the problem.
Yep this way he/she can use different dailly spells as an encounter spells instead of one. But he burns a standart action to do this. So he effectively casts a daily spell as an encounter, but spends :2: rounds to do it. I don't think it's really a bonus.

At least mechanics-wise, I think this is the key point that prevents the abuse. Shape Magic is an Archmage power (no power source), not a Wizard power / spell (arcane power source).

It might be, except for one thing: it's not a spell. A Spell has been defined as an Arcane Power. Shape Magic, however, doesn't have the Arcane tag(or any other keywords for that matter).
