Nearly a millennium ago, the Cataclysm shattered the world of Urth into scores of large fragments and hundreds of small shards. Divine magicks were invoked to keep the fragments and shards of the Shattered Urth in orbit around its sun, as well as to maintain the atmosphere and gravity upon each individual fragment and shard. Channels of aether were created to interconnect the fragments and shards, whose inhabitants built ships and boats capable of sailing the aether. Now, the orbit of a major fragment - home of the player characters, as it so happens! - is beginning to decay. Is this because the ancient magic is dying, or is there some secret, sinister plot at work here? Whatever, the player characters must investigate the cause and find a way to restore their home fragment. For as the fragment gradually orbits farther and farther away from the sun, the winters are growing longer and colder; and fear, famine, and anarchy is increasing among its thousands of inhabitants. Note, this campaign world was inspired by the fantasy novels The Shattered World and The Burning Realm, by Michael Reaves. (These novels are long since out of print, but if ever you happen across a copy, you should read them! Truly great and original D&D-ish fiction.) Note, there are currently two separate groups playing in this campaign; one group, every other Saturday afternoon; the other group, every other Sunday afternoon. (So, each group plays twice a month.) We meet in the Arvada/Westminster (Colorado) area. We are easy going and down to earth people; age range, late 20's to early 40's. One of the groups has two couples playing in it. Both groups are presently in need of 2 more players to join. (We think 5 or 6 players and a DM is the ideal group size.) If you're interested in joining one of our groups, contact me... azlan1000@comcast.net - Quinn P.S. If you're interested in playing in a Ptolus campaign, or if you're a DM'ing one, somewhere in the NW Denver area, please contact me.
