He's been collecting these for </p><p>over 10 years, though obviously he doesn't have room for too much stuff. Some of the </p><p>children he runs take care of laundry and other chores around the abandoned building </p><p>they live in. Despite being semi-transient, he generally manages to stay relatively clean.</p><p></p><p>Knife: Dobber hate's violence and generally doesn't resort in it unless his life is in danger. </p><p>For those types of circumstances, he carries this knife. He's been known to pose in disguise, </p><p>playing upon people's sympathy for change. He also runs a somewhat elaborate scheme, </p><p>letting children beg for him. It seems every week or so, sometimes even more often, </p><p>Dobber is concocting some new scheme.</p><p></p><p>Dobber, originally Edward Tallowhaven, was born to an upper middle class </p><p>family in London. Dreams filled with evil visions plagued his sleep filled </p><p>hours, keeping him from getting any real good rest. </p><p></p><p>Dobber's parents were afraid to talk about the issue outside the house. While it is </p><p>normal for children to have nightmares, Dobber had them constantly, and the things he </p><p>would describe after waking were not the normal dreams of a child his age. Instead, Dobber's parents urged him to try to combat </p><p>the horrid creatures that plagued his dreams. They figured that if he realized he had </p><p>control of the dreams, he might be able to gain enough control to make them go away.</p><p></p><p>Though Dobber's parents likely meant the best for him, their decision to keeps his </p><p>nightmares a secret was a big mistake. At the age of six, while sleepwalking, Dobber </p><p>killed his parents in their sleep. It wasn't long into the investigation that the detectives </p><p>found out about his dreams and had him committed to the Beckenshire Sanitarium. </p><p>Dobber never fully understood the reason he was went to the sanitarium. He is unaware </p><p>that it was he who killed his parents. </p><p></p><p>Inside the sanitarium, Dobber was poked and prodded, both physically and </p><p>mentally; his dreams continued to plague him though. While he never was able to gain </p><p>contol of his dreams, or fully recover from the bloody death of his parents, Dobber did </p><p>begin to grow in other ways. At the age of 14, he began to realize that he had an </p><p>interesting ability. If he focused hard enough, Dobber was able to read the thoughts of </p><p>those around him. It first started with one of the doctors that dealt with him. One day </p><p>while the doctor was checking up on him, he brushed up against the doctor's hand. For a </p><p>brief moment, he realized what the doctor was thinking.</p><p></p><p>Dobber learned to harness his new ability. Initially, he practiced with the </p><p>sanitarium staff. Later, he was able to expand his ability and read the thoughts of other </p><p>patients as well, even some that lived in the other wing. </p><p></p><p>Always an enterprising fellow, Dobber decided to put this ability to use. With </p><p>recent drawbacks in funding for the sanitarium, Dobber realized that he might be able to </p><p>make the necessary changes to be released from the institution. He paid close attention to </p><p>the Doctors that worked upon him and realized it was his dreams that they were </p><p>investigating. Dobber soon pretended that he was able to gain control over his dreams as </p><p>his parents had suggested. After months of this, he pretended that the dreams had ceased </p><p>altogether.</p><p></p><p>On his sixteenth birthday, Dobber was released from the Sanitarium. With no </p><p>family to turn to, and no place to go, Dobber eventually took to the streets. Initially he </p><p>had to rely on begging for scraps and coin, barely able to feed him a couple times a week. </p><p>It wasn't long before he began to develop some skills and stories that played on the hearts </p><p>of those he begged from.
