I have a player who claims to have a Shield of Abosorbtion.
I have yet to hear back from him as to where he got it from.
Anyone know where he might have gotten it?

If you are the DM, how did the player's PC gain a magic item you aren't aware of?

Old character died -

So new one is being created.
I told him to create a new one.
He shot me an email of the basics of his new character.
Sent him an email back to explain the Shield.
Still waiting for a response.
Was wondering where the heck he got it from.

Well, there's the absorbing sheild, in the SRD. He might be using a 3.0 version therof.

The 3.0 version on page 182-183 on the 3.0 DMG acts such once every other day; the 3.5 SRD version casts Disintigrate as a touch attack once every two days. Tell him to update it to 3.5, and you should be okay.

I hope it's a really high level campaign, though. That's a 50K gp shield.
