Shifter is it worth the pain?

I have to say reading the prereqs for this one made me wish I could take Toughness or Skill Focus at least these two I could get some use out of....

Endurance... I have now seen the lamest Feat in print. In two years of play I dont think a single use for this has ever come up in play. The least it could do is offer a couple of free rounds before kicking in the +4.

Has Monte ever errataed his Ranger to include this feat on its bonus list? Why wasn't endurance on the fighter bonus list? Is ths Shifter cool enough to warrent utterly wasting a Feat for it?

Endurance is not a waste of a feat. DM's are usually to lazy or just don't want to mess with the endurance rules. But with the feat you can place your character in situations where it becomes useful. Travel 12 hours a day instead of 8. Push your character to the limits. Abilities are only a waste if PCs and DM fail to use them.

If I push on till 12 hours then I'm 4 hours from the rest of the group.... you are right one should use their abilities but I'm really not seeing how this can be useful. +4 in situations which never arise or you've left the rest of the team behind in order to get there.

Then make the group travel with you. Make the situations arise. Read in the DMG everything that endurance rules helps and be aware of them so you can take advantage of them when they appear.

Not that I would really consider it a wasted feat, I would think the shifter would be worth it. Some may say that the shifter is lacking because I high level spellcaster can duplicate their abilities and better, however I compare them to the fighting types they can more than hold their own, and have quite a bit of flexability to boot.

The Shifter is so worth it. My friend played one and it was great. He never missed out on the higher level spells. It is more of a fighter then a spellcaster. It seems to also be a lot of fun, if not a lot of paper work.
