Shifting and opportunity attacks

I have a question for you;

Lets say my character (Human Warlord) is caught in a flanking move by a pair of hobgoblin soldiers and managing to avoid being hit decides to strike the hobgoblin behind him with a Furious Smash by means of the pommel of his greatsword to its gut before spending an action pt to make a melee basic attack on the hobgoblin in front of him and then shifts one hex down so he's out of sight of the second hobgoblin but diagonally adjacent to the one in front of him.

Does this allow that hobgoblin an opportunity attack?

It just in 3.0 a one square move wouldn't merit such a thing but with it being 4e I wanted to know what you think about this.

No, shifting doesn't provoke. Though I can't picture what you mean by 'one hex down,' in the example.
