Instead, what I do is roleplay the more dilpomatic NPCs as more persuasive, and leave it up to the PCs to respond as they wish. Here, simply because her Diplomacy was so godawfully high, I added the flavor angle where her speaking directly to someone would momentarily create a favorable impression, without actually forcing the PCs to go along with it. The compromise worked well, I think.It's going to take a few days for the next update, since I'm going to be focusing rather on all the nice things I'll be giving the PCs when we play on Saturday.
