While I don't disagree, I'm trying to accomplish two things with this. The Ki Punch ki power is intended as an improvement to monk as well. In Kaidan, the monk can freely choose from the list as well, and I'm trying in some small way to fix MAD skills problem. Also for flavor I think this power fits. It's balanced by only allowing a 30' distance for it's range. (It's a little over-powered, but not overly much.) I actually have Endzeitgeist (the reviewer) as one of project's patrons and he too agreed it was a bit OP, but also think it fits, so not too out of line. Three things. One I think a monk is a better fit for a ninja, than a rogue could ever be. Two, this is for Kaidan, my commercial project, and like Japan, ninja isn't a specific class, rather it's a family of classes that work together to accomplish their covert activity. An entire clan/village houses the Shinobi clan which include: bard, monk, ranger, rogue and sorcerer, each with their own shinobi archetype. I will post my shinobi classes in this thread over the next few days. I don't think I need to make shinobi (rogue archetype) though, as the UC ninja fills that position well. Three, from the APG, the new ki feats of Spider Walk and Cloud Walk require Slow Fall as a prerequisite which means its for monk. Look at those ki feats. Isn't that the epitome of Ninja? This more than anything else tells me that Paizo had intentions of monk being a ninja. Just because they pull a 180 degrees with the UC Ninja based on a rogue, doesn't change my thinking. I agree as well, but I think the UC Ninja getting assassinate early is too early (in fact getting the Ki Pool at 2nd level instead of 4th like a monk is too early as well). Taking the Assassin prestige class allows you to get assassinate way sooner, but then you lose out on capstone abilities by taking a prestige class. I'd like to give Assassinate to monk earlier, but it doesn't balance well with the existing monk build. Assassinate is definitely a fit as a trade for Quivering Palm. I wish I could build a ninja monk to have assassinate sooner, but then it would be greatly OP compared to the base monk. Once I tweak this monk build, I intend to publish it in a Kaidan supplement called Shinobi, which will include all five shinobi class archetype builds, the complete new Ki powers lists, a few new feats, a few new bard and sorcerer spells, a few ninja-based magic items, and the full origins history background fluff, as it fits the setting. I've gotten some good feedback so far, but I need more, that's why I posted it here. GP
