[QUOTE="ajanders, post: 2787911, member: 3271"] [b]I need help thinking of good titles[/b] Downstairs [sblock] Grandma chuckles to herself. "Long enough I'm not going to give away any secrets, dear. I don't dwell in the past, but seeing you nice boys does call up a few memories." She looks at Kith, Wilhelm, and Setis fondly, then scratches Setis behind the ears. "Now, you were entirely right. There is a window pane out in the attic and it needs to be fixed. But the attic stairs are steep and with my bad knees, I can't get up there very well anymore. And Theo's a good boy, but I don't want him working on a third floor window. So with one thing and another, it hasn't gotten done." She sighs. "And because it hasnt gotten done and I never go up to the attic, I'm sure there's a big fat squirrel or two up there just looking to make a nice nest for the winter. Peanut's a good cat to keep the mice down, but he's just too fat for squirrels. I know this is hardly the adventure you boys wanted, but if you could help an old lady by shooing squirrels for an hour I'd be ever so grateful." [/sblock] Upstairs [sblock] The blanket shifts as Jaan watches it. A fold of the blanket falls away. The desiccated corpse of a cat quivers unnaturally inside the improvised shroud, head thrown back and mouth open in a silent death yowl. An eyelid twitches and stretches open, revealing a glowing yellow eye. The eye swivels crazily, bulges, and reveals itself to be some sort of luminescent beetle. The beetle finishes chewing its way out of the eye socket and heads towards Jaan. Behind it, the corpse of the cat twitches as perhaps a dozen beetles chew their way out after their leader. Below them, the nearly dry oil lamp becomes entirely dry, flickering out and leaving the third floor landing lit mostly by the luminescence of the beetles. [sblock] Jaan's reaction is at his players desire, but Theo needs a Will save at this point: Will Save: 3+-2=1. [/sblock] [/sblock] Kith and Jaan [sblock] Jaan and Kith both hear the snap of a small crossbow and the crash of a small clay marble shattering on a wall. [/sblock] Upstairs, Theo begins to scream, loudly, hysterically, and without pause. [/QUOTE]
