shuriken- bo vs hina

so I was doing some digging into shuriken as my char will be using them somtimes.

it looks like there are two different types. i'm guessing the one in the phb would be hira. I can see sometimes wanting a bo style for some rp type stuff like ( someone is try are trying to take down a tapestry and you could use a bo style shuriken to stick it into the wall.).

my question to you all is would you change the stats at all for bo vs hira or just reskin it?

I don't see any need to do anything at all- even re-skin it. The weapon is a "shuriken" either way, after all.

Now, if 4e specified slashing/piercing/bludgeoning damage, I would call bo shuriken piercing and hira slashing, but it doesn't, so there is no need.
