silver marches campaign ideas

absurdum

First Post
I'm just requesting a little help with an upcoming campaign of mine set in the silver marches. The main threat in the campaign will be the shades. The shades have discovered that some of the nether scrolls are being hid in a secret library under the high palace, and they wish to get them back so they can construct more mythallars. They also have excavations in progress trying to find pieces of mythallars and other artifacts. The shades may hire on pc's to help recover artifacts while they are bussy with more important things. Alongside this threat is the arcane brother and there drug trading in the silver marches and there brigants on the roads. I also may have the pc's uncover a demonfey bolthold while searchig for netherise artifacts. Also i may include some of the adventures in the back of the silver marches book.
What i would like is some specific adventure ideas, specificly targeted at lower level parties, something to practise on before the harder stuff.
The party will probably be of 3 people mybe 4 if we are lucky I'm not to sure on what everyone will play, but my guess is an elven fighter who will evetually take onthe peerless archer class, an uthgart barbarian, and a total wildcard.
Thanks in advance :)

it sound like you already have plenty of ideas to work with. it shouldn't be too hard to scale down some of these for a first level party. for example, if dealing with the shades is too difficult at first, have human agents of the empire of shadow (the vast bulk of the empire, after all, as noted in lords of darkness) hire the pc's for a job that will further their plans. these agents could easily be CR appropriate for a 1st level party (again, check out stats in LoD).

perhaps these agents hire the party to "recover" a stolen item from an "evil sorcerer." but in truth there is no evil sorcerer, nor stolen item, and the agents are hoping the pc's will kill off the occupant(s) of a building from which they hope to tunnel into the hidden dungeons of the palace once the original occupant is disposed of.

i'm interested in seeing what other responses people come up with since my new campaign's storyline will follow a similar arc.

[bump in disguise] thanks darkbard i may use that, get the players to kill a acarne brotherhood opretive. because he has something the shades want. perhaps something that will bring them closer to getting the nether scrolls or an artifact.
anyone else got any ideas?

I ran Of Sound Mind as the first adventure in the region just as a warm-up. It works well putting Bellhold in the Siverymoon region and there are plenty of foothills and mountains to the north.

The Sunless Citadel would also fit well as it involves exporation of an ancient ruin at low levels.

The high forest prob. has some Mythrals still active that the shades might want to have 'secured' so they may be examined.

Who knows what information lies in the libraries of Silverymoon?

Political instability may make the Shades' job esier and new coalitions are hard to keep stong.

Is everything REALLY ok in Mithal Hall or are the dwarves mining into even grater danger?

Just some ideas.
