Simpsons Halloween Episode...

First Post
..is freakin airing on November 6th this year! With Halloween falling on a Monday, why would Fox opt to wait a week rather than air it the night before?

Ok, maybe no one cares but me, but this is my holiday and these $#^%$# episodes have become a tradition. I would personally like to get a list of names and petition fox to switch their schedule a bit.

Unlikely? Waste of time? Maybe. But I gots ta blow off steam.

Anyone interested in signing the petition? It's free and would make me feel all warm inside :)

Isn't that normal for the Halloween episodes? Wasn't one shown in the middle of November before? For some reason I remember that the Halloween episdoes almost never air on, or even within a day of Halloween.

Because Fox is airing the World Series, and if that goes to Game 7, it'd be on Sunday night, October 30th. So, rather than advertise a big event like the Simpsons Halloween Special for 10/30, knowing there's a fair chance it could get pre-empted, they put it on 11/6.

Relax...take deep breaths...

This isn't the first year this has happened. In fact, for the last few years the Simpsons' annual "Treehouse of Horror" episode has been postponed until early November due to the World Series.

Since when is Halloween a holiday?

It officially becomes a holiday when Target's got aisles of merchandise specifically for the occasion. ;)

A few years back, I read that, in the U.S., Halloween is now only second to Christmas on how much consumers spend to "celebrate" it. A generation ago, it used to be trick-or-treat (which meant buying candy, and costumes if you had little kids), and that was about it. Now, there's a huge industry in Halloween decorations.

I drove through my neighborhood last night, and probably every 2nd house had some sort of Halloween decorations in the yard or in the windows. The Christmas-tree-light makers are pushing the all-orange strings of lights for the occasion.
