<blockquote data-quote="mearlus" data-source="post: 64289" data-attributes="member: 1850">What is Wisconsin going to have in place of Gen Con?&nbsp; Squat.&nbsp; Simple as that.&nbsp; I've lived in WI all of my 22 years, and have been going to Gen Con since I was 14 I believe.&nbsp; It was my &quot;vacation&quot; for the year, what I looked forward to throughout the year.&nbsp; It was what I would demand from my employers for my day off, and if they wouldn't give it to me I would quit.&nbsp; (I really would have, but none had the balls to not give me those days off... eheheh)&nbsp; Why did I go?&nbsp; I think I went for the reason it was created in Lake Geneva, to gather with fellow gamers and be in awe.&nbsp; In all the years that I have gone, I had not once joined in a game session.&nbsp; I have wanted to, but have never had the chance.&nbsp; There is so much to do, so much to see that I didn't want to spend hours just sitting around gaming when I could do that any other day.&nbsp; I wanted to see the vendors, the people, the costumes, and the ART!!&nbsp; It allowed me to forget about my everyday problems, and to just relax.&nbsp; And now it is soon to be gone.&nbsp; Every year, if not every week I find another reason to hate this state.&nbsp; Sadly enough I work for the state and see that nothing is going to change the way it operates any time soon.&nbsp; This is Milwaukee's loss.&nbsp; They're going to miss out on not only money, but a cultural experience.When I first heard that Gen Con was going to be moving, I was in denial.&nbsp; Then I became angry at Wizards of the Coast.&nbsp;&nbsp; Now I know why.&nbsp; I originally was planning on never to attend the convention again because of this, but now...&nbsp; now I will plan on it.&nbsp; Why?&nbsp; If not to just give Milwaukee the middle finger, but to insure that the love for the game doesn't die in Wisconsin.Ok, this went on somewhat of a random tangent into a rant about how I hate Wisconsin.&nbsp; Anyway, that is some of my random thoughts on the whole move thing.Mearlus</blockquote>
