Message: <blockquote data-quote="Barendd Nobeard" data-source="post: 64749" data-attributes="member: 960">Re: Whats on at MilwaukeeIf you're into Living Greyhawk, I will probably run a Highfolk (Wisconsin) module on Tuesday night.If you like nature, go to "The Domes" - officially called the Mitchell Park Horticultural Gardens (or some such nonsense).  They've got three large geodisic (sp?) domes, each with a different biosphere inside.  One is all desert plants, one is (I think) tropical, and one changes frequently.  Tip: Go to the desert biodome after the tropical one, so you dry off!If you hate druids, go to the zoo and look at all the nice animals trapped in their crappy cages.  (I'm such a hypocrite - I don't like zoos (I think it's mean to lock up animals), but I'm a member because my kids like to go).If you like water, go swimming in Lake Michigan or Lannan Quarry.If you like short, over-priced movies, go see an Imax film at the Museum.  Or, if you like museums, go to the Museum or Discovery World (a science museum for kids).  All three are located in the same place, very close to the Midwest Express Center.If you like books, go to Renaissance Books.  There is a small (but much better organized) one at the airport.  The main one is downtown.  It's big and dusty.  And go to the bathroom before you go there (if you've ever used the bathroom at Renaissance Books, you know what I mean).If you want decent Mexican food, go to 6th & National.  Try La Fuente - it's better than La Perla, but La Perla has a jalapeno you can ride (think mechanical bull, but it's a giant pepper).If you like history, go to the Black Holocaust Museum.  It's a museum about slavery in the U.S.  I've never been, but my wife has and said it was very interesting.There's also a Museum of advertising that's supposed to be interesting, but I've not been there, either.If you like to laugh at stupid rich people, go to Mequon.Finally, go to a custard stand!  They are everywhere in Milwaukee (except, ironically, downtown).  My favorite is Gilles (76th & BlueMound Rd.)  And although Happy Days was created by a New Yorker, everyone here claims that Leon's (on the south side) is the model for "Arnold's Drive In" from that show.  For a nominal fee, I'll take you by Laverne & Shirley's apartment, too. (hint: it doesnt' exist)I'll try to look up more things to do, but since I live here I never do them.</blockquote>
