The sith and the dark side use Fear, Anger, & Hate – the jedi of the pre-republic try to counter these with emptiness, serenity, and oneness with the force and they lose. It is not until much later when a failing jedi student opposes fear, anger and hate with courage, hope and love that the sith are defeated.The jedi failed because they became a neutral body. They failed because their fear of the darkside terrified them enough that they denied love, hope, and courage. Only QG possessed these traits and he was kept from the council because of it. The restoration of the balance in SW is not the simple number crunching of 2 Sith vs 2 Jedi, instead it is the abolishment of a bankrupt, soulless organization to make way for love to oppose hate, and courage to oppose fear. That’s my opinion anyway.</blockquote>
