Kirio, you stalk over to the cave. Although the horses bray slightly at your passage, and you noisily kick some loose scree beneath a patch of snow, the person in the cave doesn't move or even register your presence. When you get within 5 feet of the gate, you see that it is secured with a large lock (as are the other gates for the other nearby caves). You can also now see that the person beyond the gate is not sleeping, but clearly quite dead. He was a human male, probably middle aged. One eye is open and the other seems to be frozen shut, while frost covers his trimmed goatee. His rigormortis pose shows him clutching the sheet tightly around his body in an attempt to stay warm. In one hand he also holds a small clay jar, a small slip of paper hangs out from under the lid, flapping in the breeze. You can also make out some patterns and designs on the sheet, but you would likely need to get closer to fully inspect it. Under his arm is a gray cat, which also seems to have died from exposure. [sblock="for Kirio"]Having lived in Gate Pass, you are aware that the citizens of Gate Pass attend large celebrations for the Festival of Dreams (the annual New Year's celebration that is obviously postponed this year). People write small hopes and dreams on slips of paper and place them in clay jars. After the celebration, priests from the various temples take the jars out to special caves. You can infer that this is probably one of the areas where the jars are stored. The caves and gates do not have any interesting or noteworthy elements about them. Given the rusty state of the iron gates, its probable that they could be broken or bent more easily.[/sblock]
