Skeletal Society: A D&D Next Fan Adventure

A couple weeks ago I released a D&D next fan adventure called Rats in the Sewers. At the time I promised a sequel. Well, here it is:

Skeletal Society
A shadowy organization is collecting corpses. Can the heroes discover why?

This started out as an adventure for the original playtest packet, but after I downloaded the new version last night I decided to spend some time today updating it. I think it now fits the current playtest, but it's possible I missed a few things. (Side note: dark acolytes got a huge boost!)

Hope you all like it.

I like these adventures better than the Caves of Chaos. It allows more exploration and role playing. A good mix. Can't wait for chapter 3.

Thanks! On the second one I especially tried to have option other than combat. I think it's possible to beat the adventure without a single combat. And since the Necromacner is a specialty in the new packet
some PCs might genuinly want to join the Grey Society.

I really like that these adventures are not only about combat encounters. That's a big plus for me, and I can't wait to see the last part of this trilogy.

Excellent work! :)

I agree. It's a big plus for me too.

MatthewJHanson, any timetable on the third adventure? I'm rerunning the first this week (for a different mix of players) so this one will probably be the following week. It would be awesome if we could finish up the trilogy the week after that.

I'll see what I can do. My day job (teaching) is starting up again this week though, so I might not have as much free time as I'd like.

(Also I'd be eager to hear how it goes!)

Hi,

I just discovered these 2 adventures, and I have to say that I really liked them. I'm planning on making new characters for my group in 2 weeks and I'll start with Rats in the Sewers. So I hope too that the third and final installment of this trilogy will be soon available.

Congratulation for the excellent approach towards encounters. I like the fact that the story can also unfold nicely without necessarily killing everything thrown in the adventurer path. It's also great to see that clever players can make alliances with the other tribes to get an advantage in their endeavor.

I will let you know how it went once we'll have the first session behind us. I hope this will give you some motivation to finish the trilogy. :)

My players LOVE all the interaction and having to think instead of just kill everything. We are on the first one so far and it is great. PLEASE write the third one in the trilogy!
