OK, so I'm working on a partially flooded dungeon. The floors will have unseen traps under the rapidly flowing water, but players can avoid them by jumping across wooden platforms. I'm thinking of doing this as a skill challenge with three athletics checks and three acrobatics checks. If you fail two checks in a row you fall into the water and the current takes you back to the beginning. Traps in the water attack your fortitude and reflex. If one person can get across, that person can close this gate and stop the water from flowing in. The water will then drain out, revealing the traps, the treasure, and the enemies. Oh, the enemies. Somehow, zombies floating in the water are picked up and launched at you, landing on the platforms. When the water is drained from the room you will find these little crab things that apparently have telekinesis. They pick up bloated corpses with their crabby psionics, animate them, and launch them at you. Any suggestions here? Holes in the floor will then lead you to the room below. Any comments, suggestions, advice, criticisms? This is for level 1 adventurers by the way. One of them is a wizard. She told me, before I started brainstorming this room, that she wanted to be able to use her ice spells to make bridges across water. Any ideas how I can use this for puzzles in a less obvious way? She should also be able to stun enemies in the water using lightning spells. Your thoughts?
