I don't think you have to put ranks in a skill to have skill mastery in it, technically, and with the Rogue's probable high Dex, this would pretty much guarantee that you don't fall off the horse and can attack while mounted. If the DM insists, spend the two skill points for the one rank.</p><p></p><p>Do you folks think it's logical to use the "Taking 10" feature on "spur of the moment" rolls like Listen or Spot?</p><p></p><p></p><p>I'd say no, but for a different reason than you. My DM always allows me to take 10 on listen and spot anyhow (since it usually is before a combat begins, rather than in the middle of a combat when I might be distracted).</p></blockquote><p></p>
