Here is a sneak-peek at our latest Dept. 7 Advanced Class. We continue our Hero related theme and bring you the Lightweaver! Flava' text:
[I]She kept her mahogany hair cut tight against her skull, so it wouldn’t flash-incinerate when she left her human flesh and bone behind and transitioned up towards light-speed. She wore her clothes tight, no flapping jackets or dangling chains that would be sheared away when she transformed. No metal in her body or on her, just in case the distortion of her electromagnetic aura distracted her at the worst possible time, not even a filling or a zipper. She made due with plastic snaps and zip ties. Ever since Maddie first transformed to light and flame, in an prepubescent eruption that destroyed her 6th grade class room and nearly killed her class mates, she lived the part, dressed the part and most of all, relished the part. She was a Department Seven psi-spy, recruited right out of high school, globe trotting troubleshooter and occasional assassin, superhuman mistress of light, laser and hologram: LIGHT WEAVER. She had the words lovingly tattooed across her back in shining 70s disco lettering, and she touched her totem phrase/job description ritually each night before she slept. And today.... well, today was the best kind of day, the kind of day where she really earned her outrageous black ops salary. Trapped in a burning F-22 Raptor, hands white knuckled on the stick, pressed hard into her seat by screaming G-forces. She was at 15,000 feet over North Korea and falling at terminal velocity, and she was smiling as best she could with her lips pulled taut over her teeth. She just had to hold the stick long enough for her copilot to eject, just a few more seconds..... Her eyes lit up with delight as the cracked and starred canopy exploded around her, and her copilot’s ejector seat rocketed up too swiftly for her eyes to see. “There”, Maddie thought, “the mundane’s safe and sound. Now let’s have some fun.....” Closing her eyes tight, she bit her lower lip, deep in concentration. She shut out the roar of the wind, the screaming collision warnings from her controls, the punching sound of North Korean machine gun fire strafing her wings. She felt the power well up in her, like the greatest orgasm in the universe. Her dying plane exploded spectacularly around her. Maddie opened her eyes, her pupils having been replaced by roiling thermonuclear furnaces. She hung suspended in mid air, the fire and wreckage of her plane passing through her luminous body. She turned her head, tracking the Korean fighter jets as they zoomed past, smiling at the horror she knew the pilots were feeling. Maddie cracked her knuckles and prepared to sling her lasers......
