So onto the DM's perspective of this section. So they went off the beaten path pretty quickly and I ultimately had them find a spring before they explored the rest of the island. In hindsight that could have ended poorly but it ended up working out alright. This comes down to me often reading the adventure and playing it at the same time. If I had read the module ahead of time I would known that the place the PC's were supposed get the water was later in this part of the adventure. Oh well like I said it worked out okay. I ended up inserting the giant frogs later from where the party was "supposed" to encounter them. Case of the Quantum Ogre or I guess Frog encounter. Honestly I know that Paizo writes these adventures to be read more than played (or at least it feels that way sometimes) but I often find I really wish I just had some bullet points for each section rather than all the (admittedly well written) purple prose. I loved the ghoul encounter as well. Lots of fun role-playing to be had there and a useful place to do some info dumping about the Infernus and what happened on the island. All in all nothing much was changed from the module though I could have had the final encounter be a bit more of a struggle. The vine chokers were kinda scary so it all works out. One thing that I will say is I kinda wish we had started this like a week later so that by the time we got to this island I had the Bestiary 2 since they had many of the monsters that came up in this adventure. Oh well, all's well that ends well.
