Seeing that the interrogation is finished, Quarion wastes no time. Before Veras'Re can bundle up all the weapons, Quarion takes the longsword. Pitiless, he roughly grabs a quivering kobold. The druidic elf forces the kobold down to its knees. Garma growls from nearby. His eyes half closed and his lips moving in silent prayer, Quarion slices through the kobold's neck. Garma leaps forward and drags the body into the undergrowth of the forest. Without a moment's pause, Quarion repeats the process on each living kobold, and Garma comes back each time to drag the corpse into the forest. "Katherine's" kobold is last. When the last kobold is dead, Quarion and Garma begin dragging all the other kobold bodies lying around to the same spot among the trees, putting the creatures out of their misery when necessary. At last, all the kobolds are dead and laying, faces towards the sky, in a line. In each of their lizard-like mouths, Quarion places a single green leaf plucked from the trees. Once this final task is done, he walks out a ways, kneels, and raises his hands up. In solemn Sylvan he prays, "Hopai eleates vousai tae delei tenneb. Hopai tae arg'ha yr'Verdante eassae. Hopai tae naraes da weth." He wipes the kobold blood off the sword onto the ground. He stands and brushes off his knees. Turning to the group he says, "There is no time for a proper burial. At least this way, their bodies will be consumed faster and bring life sooner." He breathes an uncharacteristic sigh. "They do not deserve to live, but neither do they deserve to die. Such creatures should never have existed at all. But now is no time for pity or mercy. A dragon waits to be slain. Let us be off!" [sblock]Translation: May the trees consume them to satisfy hunger. May they become one with nature forever. May their death become life.[/sblock]
