Not hit to me but I'm happy to field it as well, even at the risk of colliding in the outfield and making the blooper real. a) We did not convert to yards for area of effect outdoors. Unsure if that is RAW or not given the lack of clarity and agreement in the text. b) Yes. Also we had to deduct out expenses for retainers who had PC levels as well, though sometimes we'd get out of this by making the retainer "self-sufficient" by giving them sufficient things to manage that would generate the income that covered his experiences. For example, one of my henchman ran an inn and tavern while I was adventuring. But if I took the henchman with me adventuring, then I'd have to pay for the upkeep of my henchman as well. c) No. I don't even know the full morale rules for AD&D. I never tried to apply them after being dissatisfied with the BECMI morale rules and then when moving to AD&D just decided I'd "eyeball" morale rather than doing the tests. Generally I felt that in order to get morale right it would have to take into account lots of fiddly circumstantial things that the BECMI rules didn't, and that I didn't want to track that. Examples of fiddly thing would be - "how reasonably does the monster believe it can flee successfully", "what are the consequences of fleeing for the monster", "how much does the monster hate and despise the enemy", "what was the motivation for attacking in the first place". These considerations impact the actions of a monster. A monster that is starving and will die it if can't feed, will risk more than one that figures it can get a meal elsewhere. A monster that has a planned escape route will flee more readily than one cornered, etc. While I could be convinced to use roll the dice for morale, it would need to be an elaborate system that also I felt was fast and intuitive in play. d) Only if they are human. e) Yes. Yes, but only usually as the result of an aging attack changing the PC's age category. Your initial age didn't change your starting stats. Not sure whether that was RAW or a house rule. f) Yes. Not only is he checking but I have caught diseases from failed checks before. g) Yes. That was up to PC M/Us to track.
