Sneak, Hide, and Move Silently

I'm considering a house rule to Hide/Move Silently. In Arcana Unearthed, they are unified into a single skill, Sneak. I like this, but I also think that it should be possible to train in one but not the other. Still, though, I think that training in one really couldn't be accomplished withgout gaining some modicum of proficiency in the other. Now, on to the rule. There will be 3 skills, Hide, Move Silently and Sneak. Your maximum ranks in each is equal to half what they would sormally be, and all classes with either Hide or Move Silently as a class skill would have Sneak as a class skill (A first level rogue could have 2 ranks in each). Sneak ranks would apply equally to Hide and Move Silently. Is this clear? Will it work?

To clarify:At first level you normally have a max rank of 4 in any given skill. All 3 skills are now max of 2. If you Put 2 points into Sneak and none into the other 2 you will have 2 in each of the 3. However if you put 2 into each of the 3, you will have 2 in Sneak and 4 each in Hide/MS.

It can work, but i think the AU simplification is perfectly reasonable and what I was already house ruling.
