Message: <blockquote data-quote="Mark" data-source="post: 2002525" data-attributes="member: 5"><p>A commercial for a theme-based chat line (sex line?) targeted at geeks.  The first theme/segment was for D&Ders, the second for SW fans, then ST fans, then LotR fans.  Although they didn't use all of the jargon correctly, it wasn't bad.  Jokes like that usually go over the best when they are well-researched and the target has nothing they can say about it than, "They've got our number with that one."  When the target can poke holes in the details, satire loses some of its punch.  I'd say it was a near-miss in this case.</p></blockquote><p></p>
