[QUOTE="Connovaer, post: 2568990, member: 36121"] lo T B thanks for the response. It aint exactly just the lo magic issue, unfortunately a couple of my players are what i would call luddites, they are totally high fantasy bred players, these guys dont like change. The two most recent games we have played have been Silver age sentinels (GM'd by me) followed by M&M (gm'd) by my mate. It has been like pulling teeth to get them to buy into these games, and now at long last they smell fantasy (thi9nk wolves chaing down injured prey jaws slathering.) Once upon a time me and these guys used to play every sunday for nearly 12 hours some truly epic fantasy games that went on for years, but were all older (a lot :( ) and nowadays we have to exist on 4 hours on tuesday night for our fix. I just dont see me being able tyo spend enough time with each character to fully investigate the political intrigue that is at the heart of this game. The fact that only two of my players have read the books means that the two luddite lumbering high fantasy players are dissadvantaged and unfortunaely therefore not as liable to give me the grace i need to run what is a very complex world. To be honest i am desperately gutted that i cannot run this world as it and the rpg deserve to be run. I have gone out and bought AE as i heardsome cracking reviews about it, it has enough of a change from vanilla d&d to make it new and interesting whilst retaining enough immediacy to make it quickly and easily accesible. I have not given up on AGOT at all as i think the adaptation is absolutely first class, however i will be irging my two wayward friends to read the book, thaqt in my opinion is the only way to get them to buy into the world how i would like to run it.
