So how is KoTS?

I come back to the forums to see the adfventure is released! Anyway, I am reading as many threads as I can but still would like to know:

Now that you have read and played it, how is it? How is the adventure? How is the game? Is 4E really going to rock?

Also, please spoil me the adventure. WHats it about, what critters do you face and how does it compare to the adventures of old (ruleset aside)

Thanks!

The adventure plays very well. The format for encounters really helps the DM have all the relevant information at his fingertips. The Maps included with the adventure are awesome and provide some good tactical choices for using terrain, for both the PCs and monsters.

I ran the adventure this weekend and we had a blast. It was pure Awesome and Win!!! LOL

The ruleset, though still limited to some quickstart rules, provides many options for the PCs to shine.

As far as comparisons to other adventures that is difficult because preferences are very personal.

I can say this. The adventure provides enough challenges to keep the party occupied for a while. It will take about 20-30 hours of game time to play through this. There are times when the party is going to have to decide to run to fight another day, as there are some encounters that can easily stack up and cause all sorts of pain and suffering.

Overall, I really liked the adventure. My only gripe is with the paper used for the adventure and quickstart rules. It is too flimsy and does not hold well to continued use. Everything else about the adventure really rocks.

If price is a quibbling point about this adventure I figured that the cost of enjoyment for this is minimal for the hours of fun it provides. 6 players (DM & 5 PCs) / $30 = $5 per player. For 20+ hours of gaming that is less than 25 cents per hour of play. I'm pretty sure that is a pretty good deal.
