I love "The End"--I bought the "collector's edition" and it promptly disappeared. So I bought another one at GenCon, the new supplement ("Boston Massacre") and a backup copy of the rules. OK, so I'm paranoid. The setting is great. We're all familiar with it, but there are a few differences. Nature is taking over; reclaiming its own, so to speak. Lots of animals are dire-type versions of more familiar beasts. "The Blues" (accelerated rate of decay for man-made items that are not maintained/used on a regular basis), makes life harder. And, of course, several different "colonies" have been created out of the mess that was left behind. I can't wait to play it. But since I'll probably never find a game, I'll just have to run it instead. I will finally have to get off my duff and run a game for adults. (The only game I run right now is with all young (12 and under) players.) It's a d20 game, but you don't get a lot of h.p. in "The End"--how does d2 h.p. per level after 1st sound? That's not a typo--it's a two. (You get h.p. = Con at first level.) I think it will be a role-play intensive game. Combat is deadly (firearms, low h.p., etc.), so you can't just "shoot-em-up" like some other games. I might do the game online (email or message board). If I do, I'll may make a Story Hour out of it....
