I was a lurker for a long time (since the creation of the old black pages), but have only really started posting a lot recently. Reason: I used to come to ENWorld (and before that Noah's site) for the news, and not much else. I would read the boards to see what was up every so often, but that's it. Now: The news really isn't as exciting as it used to be, so I post on the boards. Don't get me wrong, Morrus does an excellent job. The problem is that there really isn't that much to work with. Think about it. Most of the news nowadays consists of: -Company X announces another supplement to their house setting -The rumor mill says that Hasbro is going to <various evil deeds which will end gaming as we know it> -Such and such book has been sighted in stores -Errata list released -Upcoming chat with <famous gaming figure> Compare this to what it used to be: -Anonymous at a demo found out that one of the upcoming prestige classes, something called a 'Shadowdancer' has the ability to hide in pain sight -Monsters can have class levels! -FFG announces Dragonstar! -Forgotten Realms teasers All the really cool books are out. The only really notable ones coming out now are usually heard about way in advance, and have probably already been done in some fashion. Oathbound is the only recent aquisition of mine that really took me by surprise. I'm still waiting on the Iron Kingdom's campaign setting, and Mutants & Masterminds looks pretty cool. Outside of that, what real news is there? It's just more of the same.
