LOL how does "they are putting out books" (i.e., 2-4 per year as suggested above) ... by the way books that are not likely to be designed in-house ... answer much less contradict the statement that D&D is an afterthought for WotC? Putting core books on the shelf creates market presence. Printing a minimal amount of follow up just ensures book stores keep at least a copy of the PHB in stock next to the Pathfinder stuff. Meanwhile, WotC prints increasing amounts of MtG (despite all this "more is worse" talk LOL), which is the real focus. I'm not blaming them. I'm not criticizing a business for focusing on what makes them money. Rather, my point is WotC does not care about D&D as a table top RPG. People like me, who figured 5E would mark the return to some semblance of product support not seen since 2010, are bound to be disappointed. That is not the same thing as thinking WotC cares about me or people like me. I know they don't. All that being said, I think I will go buy some Pathfinder stuff now. Never thought I would say that again.
