In 3e, cleric was, according tomany players unabalanced. Now I personally don't think so, (at least not the core 3e cleric) but to many it was.
Which class do you think is going to be the most uber in 4e core (i.e phb only)?
IMO magic users will always hold the edge. I think the per day abilities of magic users are still going to own, but since they are per day they will be toned down somewhat. (though I am sure there will be feats that allow multiple uses of a per day ability)
Overall though, I think from what we have seen the ranger will end up being a little overpowered compared to the other martial classes. Thing is, they took away spellcasting so i think they will go a little too overboard on the other end, and the ranger will end up dealing more damage overall, per turn, than other martial classes. While this is probably the idea, ranger being a striker and all, i think they will go a little to far with it.
