[QUOTE="WSmith, post: 471483, member: 106"] Hello old friends. Good to see you all. No time for the backstory of my whereabouts, but I was directed to this thread from my cronies from Dragonsfoot. So, I figured I would come back to where I started and take a peek. I have to say, when I was a heavy 3rd ed guy, I didn't like DF. There was too much bashing of 3e for my tastes. Then something happened to the server and the old board got dumped. After the mods restored the site, the new boards have been more civil by light years. Plus, the Edition Wars forum was the best idea to keep the nonsense in one place. The other forums are pretty much straight on topic, so if you want to post on the Classic D&D, or 2nd edition boards, you can pretty much expect it to remain on topic and civil. I have gone back to Basics, Basic D&D actually ;) and moderate the Classic D&D board on DF. I find it to be the easiest version of the game for me to DM, (old dog, new tricks comes to mind ;) ). So, if you want to feel a little nostalgia for OOP versions of D&D, check out DF, and ignore the Edition Wars forum, (which BTW, I barely even read myself. Why? After years of disscussing D&D on the web, I don't care anymore what version anyone likes or dislikes, cause I know what I like at my game table. I find it a waste of time for me to beat the same old dead horse over and over which game is better, cause it is all a matter of preference. It is just a game, not a religion. Have fun with it.)
