[QUOTE="Rel, post: 7693994, member: 99"] Wanted to pop over and lend my voice to the chorus of support, Alex! I jumped on this Kickstarter on Day 1 and I'm quite looking forward to seeing the final product. For those reading and on the fence, I've had the pleasure of playing in several Starguild games over the years and it has always been a fantastic experience. Watching Alex carry the game to the point of being able to share it with the world has been tremendous fun. I'm quite fortunate to count Alex as a friend and we both do our best to attend an annual house-con here in the US. The first year I went I played in his game mostly because he seemed like a really nice guy and I wanted to see how he ran games. I'll never forget it because it was one of the most brilliant and brave displays of game mastering I'll ever witness. There were four different factions of diplomats, gathered on board a space station, each faction with different goals, some of which differed from the goals of the characters of that faction! Over that he laid a bit of card trading game where we could swap promises of resources from various worlds our factions controlled. All of that would have been amazing and ambitious enough, but this was against a backdrop of creeping dread as an alien presence began to gradually take over the space station. Eventually we were forced to make a desperate flight, not knowing who we could trust in the first place, further complicated by the takeover of the alien virus. The finale was suitably thrilling and packed with skulduggery of the highest order. At the end of the game I shook Alex's hand to tell him what an incredible job he'd done and asked him about the system only to be further impressed that he'd designed it himself. Since then I've played in his games several times and it is truly impressive how he manages to keep a consistent theme (Who can you trust? Can we all survive this without working together? Can my character survive and meet their personal goals?) while showcasing a broad array of settings and scenarios. If I sound like I'm gushing, it's because I am. Alex is the kind of fundamentally decent human being I hope to see succeed in all his endeavors. But, aside from all that, he's created a really fun game that tackles complex ideas with elegance and excitement. I'd encourage anybody to give it a look to see if it sounds like their sort of game.
