Software book recommends?

I'm in the process of learning VBA for Microsoft Office, using a suite of books (Excel , Word , and one for Access from same series). Tough stuff, since it seems very long on talk and short on examples.

So, anyone have any suggestions for good books for learning beginning-to-intermediate VBA coding (not the "Record Macro" stuff; I'm pleased to say that I'm not quite that bad :) ) for Access, Word, and Excel 2000? In a reasonable price range for someone who is short on cash? Ones with lots of examples?

Also, I'd like to find some advanced books on Microsoft Office. I passed the MOUS at master level, so I don't need entry-level stuff. I'd like to learn about the hidden stuff, especially with Access and Excel.

I'm also interested in learning SQL. Maybe a good introductory book, as well as one that's more advanced and focused (since I've heard that there's MANY types of SQL)--one that's very common, since I don't have the time or money to learn everything. (Though I know it seems like I'm taking a scattered approach here. :) )

And finally, if anyone here is an accountant or knows accountants, I'm interested in books on accounting software. Whatever are the most common for small- to mid-sized companies.

Basically, I'm going to get a job, even if I have to learn every piece of software under the sun, dang it! :p

When researching computer books, I like to go to places like Amazon.com and read reader reviews. Most people are quite candid, and will ferret out the stinkers, and extol the gems.
