Heh Good lucj. Quick question though, I've heard about the Ceramic DM competition, but have no idea what it actually Is (what do you know, yet another thing that has yet to find its way in the dark of this continent )
It's a derivative of the Iron DM competition. Which is a derivative of the Iron Chef tv show.
If you're not familiar with that, the basic premise is that famous chefs square off in Kitchen Stadium and have an hour to prepare as many dishes as they can with a Mystery Ingredient. The mystery ingredient has to be included in each dish. It's high pressure and the chefs are excellent. At the end a panel of judges pick the chef whose dishes they think best used the secret ingredient.
Iron DM is similar, but instead of 1 ingredient there are several and the 'dish' is an RPG adventure. The ingredients can be monsters or themes or events or emotions. The participants are judged on the quality of the adventure they assemble. And the time frame is a matter of days rather than an hour.
Ceramic DM is similar to Iron DM, but the output is a story (though sometimes folks submit adventures). The ingredients in Ceramic DM are all pictures. These pictures have to be integrated into the stories as if they were significant illustrations. Each round two writers square off and have 72 hours to write their stories. One writer advances and it begins again until there's a victor. And that's that.
As much as it pains me to do it, I'm going to pull the plug on this game, Ghostknight. I really appreciate your patience and I'm sorry the reward is that I'm killing the game. It was fun and I really enjoyed the brainstorming, world development and roleplaying that we did do.
Thanks, GK, for your time and creativity. [will repeat in the IC thread]
