He gets credited as Nicolai Shapiro, Nikolai Shapiro, Niall Shapiro, Nial Shapiro and Niall C. Shapiro. He was working for Chaosium, and also did the Other Suns antropomorphic sci-fi rpg. As far as I can tell, they're all the same guy.

Ah, that makes him likely this person on RPG Geek: Niall Shapero. Contributed to DW #1 and Dragon #89, plus the Other Suns RPG.

(Interesting, his surname is definitely spelt Shapero on the Other Suns RPG box cover...)

A-ha! He has a Livejournal Blog, where he spells his name as Niall Shapero. There's some interesting material in his blog, so go off and read it.

(Best bit: He was once told he didn't have enough experience to run the Other Suns RPG... ;))

The article in DW #2 was titled "Into the Labyrinth". Steve Jackson, of Steve Jackson Games, did a DM handbook with that same title for Melee and Wizard.

Seems very likely, doesn't it?

Can anyone tell me who John M Snyder is? There are some other John Snyders around, but their credits in the RPG industry seem a bit late. We have John T Snyder, who did the cover for the 5th edition Call of Cthulhu in 1992, plus a a lot of other products in the 90s, but I can't see credits for much before 1991. As far as I can tell, he might be an artist...

Cheers!

Good find. I do wonder how he pronounces his own name to have people so confused as to its spelling. :)
