Sorcerer/Wizard familiars

Not that a Sorcerer/Wizard is an optimal build, but I was wondering if you can gain a familiar from both classes? So a Sorc1/Wiz1 would get 2 familiars... What's the verdict on this?

And if it is not allowed, is there any feats or PrCs out there that allow you to gain more than one familiar at a time? I am aware of Obtain Familiar feat, but that doesn't specifiy if you can use it to gain more than 1 familiar (I assume it is just 1).

One familiar, class levels stack.

The Obtain Familiar feat still only permits one familiar; however, it will permit, say, a Bard to have a familiar, and lets you gain your full familiar advancement even though the full spellcasting progression PrC that you just so enjoy doesn't support familiar advancement.

You want 2 XP draining bullseyes? You either have a push-over DM or you are a glutton for punishment ;)

Yeah, one familiar is all you get, should need and ever want.

A character with more than one class that grants a familiar may have only one familiar at a time.

Levels of different classes that are entitled to familiars stack for the purpose of determining any familiar abilities that depend on the master’s level.

There's a feat in Dragon Magazine #280, page 62, that'll get you what you want. "Extra Familiar." It's a General feat, and can be taken multiple times. It does exactly what it says.

Well, I had a certain build in mind that utilized multiple familiars and/or animal companions... I just need a way to protect them reliably, because once the DM realize how much damage they can dish out, they'll be in trouble.

Out of curiousity, anyone know how many Tiny creatures can occupy the same space?
