Message: <blockquote data-quote="Zoatebix" data-source="post: 2090133" data-attributes="member: 11401">Yup - Straight from the DMG page 238 - A sorceror could try to cast the spell from the scroll at 5th level.  There are three requirements for using a scroll, and one additional requirement for using one without a caster-level check.  The three requrements are: (1) You have to be able to use the right kind of magic (arcane versus divine).(2) The spell on the scroll needs to be on your class spell list.(3) You need to have requisite ability score to cast a spell of that level, or a charisma of 13 for the sorceror in question.The final requirement is that your caster level has to be equal to or greater than the caster level of the spell as it's scribed on the scroll.  This fourth requirement doesn't depend on when your class gets accesss to the spells of a particular level - the only thing that matters is how the magic item is made.Other folks should feel free to correct me if I've missed something.-George</blockquote>
