Sort-of Poll: Cover Art

Okay, think back over all the D&D/D20 products that have come out in the past year and a half.

For that matter, think of all the fantasy RPG products you've seen that have come out in the past year and a half, not just D&D/D20.

Which one (or which ones, if you can't pick a single winner) had, in your mind, the best cover art/cover design?

I personally love Todd Lockwood's work, so Forge of Fury and Tome & Blood are tops for me. Despite my personal fondness for him, I can't say I particularly like some of his color work, though the Giant's Skull was a pleasant surprise. Similarly, I don't really like the covers for Mongoose products, which generally seem a little stiff or busy. I don't own any other D20 products, so I can't honestly judge them.

Paranoia and Shadowrun win my vote for best cover art in general. For D&D/d20 products I'd have to go with Weird Wars

Honestly in the past two years there hasn't been cover art that's really grabbed me. But I've been reading reviews more so that probably has a lot to do with it.

I think the covers for most of White Wolf's "Exhalted" line are really fresh and very well designed.

My favorite cover painting of all time is probably the cover for the Planescape: Hellbound boxed set.

I'm extremely partial to Scott Schomburg's drow on the cover of the Spelljammer Polyhedron issue.

Weird Wars Covers

I'd say Weird Wars covers were may favorite; Blood on the Rhein has that nice lurid sunset and Dead from Above has a creepy moonlight bombing raid. I'm a fan of Berni Wrightson style art though... Also, they don't cover up too much of the art with trade dress and borders.
