Soulfused Living Breastplate Effigy Cohort gestalt help

First Post
My DM is being lenient and allowing my level 6 gestalted Artificer//Warblade to create a customized construct with the Craft Construct feat...

Specifically an Effigy (a Construct-type duplicate from Complete Arcane) of a Living Breastplate symbiont (Eberron), Soulfused (imbued with incarnum to become a Living Construct from Magic of incarnum), beef it up with expensive built-in/on equipment, and then take it as a cohort... The DM's allowing this really expensive suit of armor to retain the Symbiont subtype (so it'll have the "Share Spells" ability), grant a +4 strength bonus to the host, has armor plating that will apply to both the symbiont and host, and a bunch of other things my character will craft into it (paying the proper costs for all of it, mind you). I'll post the overall cost, once I remember where I wrote it all down.

My question is what would be good classes for this thing? It can't really move well on its own (Str 8, Dex 1, Con 10) and is fairly unintelligent (Int 3, Wis 11, Cha 5).... I'm mostly looking for reliability/utility/protection and don't want to do class-dipping or anything to complex or unbalanced beyond it maybe going for a prestige class... Maybe Warlock and something else?

give it levels in warlock, and gauntlets of eldritch admixture, but ask if acid can be replaced with cold damage. also pick up maximized spell-like ability, so then you can have "normal" blasts, but also fire, lightning and cold, as well as a "charged up" type shot...i mean blast.

...chozo

:)

That's an awesome suggestion, I hadn't thought about the gloves of eldritch admixture...But still.... The Warlock can only fire off an Eldritch Blast once a round, unless I'm mistaken...

I gave it some thought though and my DM is letting me use a Shadow Sibling symbiont as the base creature for the effigy template (so the armor itself will have a higher dex score, as opposed to what the Living Breastplate has), go with soulknife/soulbow (which can retain functionality in an anti-magic/psionic field), and use the mindblade feats from Dragon Magazine 341 .... Specifically the feat that lets a Soulknife shape their mindblade as one other weapon they're proficient with. I'm thinking a mindblade in the form of a Kawanaga (10-ft grappling hook that can also be used as an exotic weapon from Oriental adventures) will be as close as I'm gonna get to the Grappling Beam (toss on the Bodyfeeder enhancement, and the grappling beam'll steal HP from my opponents every now and then, like in Metroid Prime 3).

The Soulbow's mind arrows are only treated as though fired from a bow; but nothing about the class states that they have to look like arrows... Toss on the Strategic and Tactical Reassignment feats, and by level 9 the armor can change the enhancements on the Mind Arrows as a full-round action (so I could have the armor switch the arrows between fire, frost, or shock in the middle of combat). Also, charging up a shot will come in the form of the armor gaining psionic focus for the Psionic Shot feat.

Now I just need to figure out what other class the Power Armor is going to gestalt the soulknife and soulbow with (maybe ranged weapon focused Fighter for a ridiculous amount of semi-accurate shots? Barbarian for DR, HD, and the armor having a rage-mode button installed (maybe the Whirling Frenzy variant, for extra attack while raging)? Ranger for the ranged weapon feats, use-rope, spot/listen, 6 skill points, and favored enemy?), how I'm going to pull of the speed boost and morph-ball (but then, I guess it's a no-brainer if I'm an Artificer), and then there's the Screw Attack with the Space Jump...

Loved most of the 2D games. Liked Prime 1 & 2. I think Samus is dangerously mental though, and not primarily because of Team Ninja's decisions with Metriod other M either*. Her decision not to exterminate what was believed to be the
last Metriod at the end of Metriod 2:TROS
showed a unforgivable disregard of all the species of the cosmos. A monster that feeds on
life force
is something to be wiped from the face of the universe.

EDIT: In some ways, Other M fits in better in the Metriod mythos than some like. Samus's feeling toward Adam are hinted in the dialog of Metriod:Fusion and she has a full on mental breakdown in the 2002 Manga, so it is not like Ninja was completely pulling stuff out of thin air.

Fair enough, but I still think she was better off as a silent-ish protagonist, like Link. It allowed the players to fill in the blanks for certain things. Also, while I can accept Adam restricting Samus's upgrades, I'm just not a fan of how they developed Samus's character.... Totally their call, and I'm going to miss the days when I could pretend she was like Boba-Fett but more heroic... Although I guess she's become a little bit more like Elen Ripley (from the Alien movie series), which is who Samus was sorta based on originally anyways.
