So I figure I better check on them so they don't get into a fight.  So I run and get a flashlight and chase them and low and behold, indeed, there are 3 pairs of eyes instead of just 2.  So I look at the new "dog" and think "Hey, that's a pretty big dog, at least the size of a Newfoundland. In fact, bigger than Rufus was (he was my parent's old Newf, who was about 180 lbs). And those eyes look a bit farther apart. And it's walking kind of funny, like it's swaying or shuffling. Wait a minute, that's a bear!"Not exactly scary, but it was sort of unsettling being that close to a wild animal like that. Not that black bears attack people often, but still, they are one of the few remaining animals around that can seriously hurt you.Wasn't real afraid of me, either. It didn't follow me as I backed up slowly, but didn't run off, either. Was still around after I got my dogs inside and came back for another look, but it was shuffling off towards the woods.</blockquote>
