Special flight rules for avariel?

According to RoF (thanks again, frukathka), avariel have a "flying speed of 50 feet with average maneuverability, as long as they do not carry more than a Medium load, are not wearing Heavy armor", and are not fatigued or exhausted". AFAIK, no creatures can fly while carrying more than a light load, though they can fly with medium or heavy armor as long as it is still a light load. Are avariel allowed to ignore that restriction, or is this a typo?

Being that I'm playing an Avariel right now, I was wondering this as well. I just assumed it's a typo. Not that it really matters in my case, since I'm a Wizard and don't go around trying to carry large loads.
