Special movement modes.

So with the pixie now having a fly speed, the first race with a movement mode other then normal. it kinda opens up the question: What other movement modes would be appropriate or balanced for PC use?

I could see jump speed or swim speed being used without much change to balance.

Climb though is another matter, though when compared to fly it seems not that bad.

A short range teleport would be powerful, but doable. I think a climb speed would be pretty reasonable, and a swim speed would be no problem. A burrow speed could be tricky.

How about things like forestwalk and icewalk? Those are only situationally useful.
 


A fly speed yes, but limited to a altitude of 1. N0 flying over combats, building nor most walls. No flying high to ignore range 5 or 10 attacks. Yes you can ignore difficult terrain, streams, and pits. Pixie flight is very limited, and I think it is to keep game balance. I like it.

4 squares, fly 6 squares (altitude limit 1)

You must be using the old Altitude limit rules. The latest updates changed it. You can fly higher then your limit and only crash at the end of your turn if you are higher then it.

So yes, flying over combats, buildings and walls. you cant hover above 1 square up, but you can certantly fly over alot.
