Spell Compendium: Moon Bolt

This spells target entry lists
One living or undead creature, or two living or undead creatures that are no more than 15 ft. apart; see text

However, there is no mention of additional targets in the text.

I'm thinking the spell, a fourth level cleric/druid spell which does 1d4 str damage / 3 levels fort save for half (as well as rendering undead helpless with a will save), is strong enough without two targets.

Anyone else notice that?

it can hit 2 targets the only part you can question is if both targets must be living or undead and not one of each so 2 undead or 2 living but not 1 undead and one living

well, yeah, it's a fantastic spell, though not as useful as often as you might fear.

And, of course, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. :]

It is a pretty good spell, I mock the druid in my group, because it is a fall back spell for her. If she is not quite sure what to do, she Moonbolts it. An Empowered Moonbolt can be a scary thing.

Whoa! How did my Ability damage/drain Cleric miss this spell? I must fix that immediately.

Is it just me, or is this spell immensely strong relative to other ability-damaging spells? Most other spells of this type are either Touch or Close range. This one is Long range. Plus, it does more ability damage than others.

I don't have the time to give examples here. Maybe tomorrow after some sleepzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
