There isn't one laundress in Nassau, rather it's a whole little district filled with steaming buckets, strange odors, and chatting women. Katerina knows to skirt around from the west to avoid drawing attention; only thing worse that a pirate's wagging tongue is a nosy laundress. Few folks would realize the angled double cellar door leads down into one of the oldest bolthole's in Nassau's history, once used by Blackheart, and other pirates before him. Marm, a weathered laundress with ruddy cheeks a bun of tangled grey hair, is out front beating some rugs. A beanpole thin old man with a worn sailor's cap, her husband Ebeneezer, is working on repairing a front step. Pausing from their work, they give quiet nods to your company. It's late afternoon, but the sun is still in the sky, and they know well enough not to draw undue attention to Katerina. Down the creaking wooden steps you descend into the musty cellar, where a lone lantern provides light. Old Zef, a dwarven old salt, sits on a stool across from a hulking wounded pirate bound to a chair with thick hempen rope. The pirate has a shaved head, an almost wolfish perpetual sneer on his lips, and his body is covered in tattoos, the most noticeable of which covers his entire back revealing a huge seawolf leaping out of the sea with a ship in its maw. This is D'avard, the prisoner to which Katerina has alluded. "So what's it going to be, dwarf?" D'avard grimaces. [OOC]Had to dig up some NPC names from way back in the thread Queenie! Since it has been a while, and since peterka99 is unfamiliar with the safehouse scene, I tried to do a bit of a recap. I wouldn't say it's COMMON knowledge that silver is effective against lycanthropes, but your characters are 4th level, Nia Steeleyes would very likely know that, and possibly Etienne if he ran across any lycanthropes in the North American frontier. Fenris I'm assuming you remember the results of your interrogation of D'avard, but if your memory needs jogging, let me know and I can once again dig back into our game's past.[/OOC]
