Spell Hacker's Guide?

Just curious if anyone knows of any products that might detail, essentially, a "spell hacker"- a wizard who specializes in studying and manipulating the magic spells and effects of others. Basically, a hacker whose "code" is magic.

Seems to me that Mage: The Ascension might have had something along those lines, but I'd like to know if there is anything d20 related out there.

There's Spellthief from Complete Adventurer. It's not quite what you're looking for, but it's a rogueish character who can steal prepared spells, and spell effects from the target.

Hmm... yeah, that's not quite what I'm looking for. I'm surprised there doesn't seem to be anything quite like this out there, what with all the d20 Modern-type of systems and all.

Does anyone know of any good sources for anti-magical sorts of spells, at least? I mean besides the old standbys of Dispel Magic, Break Enchantment, and Mordenkainen's Disjunction? Maybe spells that cover the spectrum of 1-9, affecting more specific aspects of spells or whatnot?

Might just have to do something myself... hm. :)

Complete Arcane gave abjuration a brass pair. Take a look at Duel Ward, Reciprocal Gyre, and Reaving Dispel. Nice new tools for the countermage.

Well, there is the Incantatrix, who specializes in metamagic, and can eventually metamagic other peoples spells. At high levels they get the abiity to wrest control of duration spells away from the original caster.
