Spell-like ability/material component

Does someone with the Least Mark of Finding (identify 1/day) need to have a pearl to use the spell-like ability? I could not find any references one way or the other.

I was looking through the Eberron Campaign Setting, 3.5 PH and 3.5 DMG. In looking at the dragonmarks, I was wondering if you had to use a material component for a mark aspect which spell's equivalent requires one (ie identify for the Least Mark of Finding).

Do you think not requiring a material component would make the ability too strong? Why?

Hi!

If you'd go with the spell-like abilities as written in the core books and consult the "Rules of the Game" article "All about Spell-like Abilities", then you'd read: "A spell-like ability has no verbal, somatic, material, focus, or XP components."

Most game designers consider the material component of a spell a basis for assigning spell-like abilities to monsters.

Kind regards

Yup, too good in comparison to the other least dragon marks. I don't think anyone was paying attention when they did this lol.
