Spell Resistance and Dragons: Personal Spells Only???

I'm building a tough foe for my PC's to battle. It's a Mature Adult White Dragon (SR 20) with some Assassin levels (7), mainly for Invisibility and Invisibility to Dragons.

The problem is that the 2 aforementioned Invisibility spells are affected by SR. Now, that's ok. I was planning on having the Dragon pre-buff himself with Invisibility, then cast Invisibility to Dragons in case it was needed (A PC is a Dragon Disciple, and so has Blindsense).

Looking over the rules for SR, however, I find that it's a standard action to lower SR, but also a standard action to keep it lowered every turn! From this, I find that I really can't cast any spells on myself; my casting ability is way too low for Quicken Spell, and I'm taking up that standard action every round keeping my SR lowered, or I'm probably failing on the SR check itself.

Am I interpreting SR correctly? Does anyone have any ideas on how to get around this, barring a spell such as Lower Spell Resistance, which I don't have access to anyway?

You'd be looking for a quote like "A creature’s spell resistance never interferes with its own spells, items, or abilities" from the description of Spell Resistance, I'm guessing?
