Spell Thematics:

Suldulin

First Post
It is quite a fun feat to have, on the errata though you also get to select one spell from each level of spells (0-9) that is a specificlly focused part of your character's 'theme' for some spells and those spells get a +1 to caster level. though this can be of little use for some spells, I'm thinking of asking my DM if the spells selected for the feat can be +1 or +2 to DC instead.

question: is this thing I'm going to be asking for balenced? why and why not?

thank you to any who respond :)

personally i'd rather keep the +1 to caster level, harder to dispell.
a + to dc only applies when you initially cast the spell. and then after that it's duration vs someone trying to dispell it.

Dispell is d20+ caster level vs 11+ caster level.
Example:
you casted charm person and level 5
and a level 5 cleric is trying to dispell
cleric gets a d20+5 vs your 11+5, with spell thematics it's 11+6 so that's a 17 to dispell.

I rather have the +1 to caster level than dc. besides you already see feats out tere adding to the + to dc this is the first one that I've heard of that is a + to caster level.

DC also doesn't aply to every spell, and, it is rather potent. What you might ask, is to be allowed to take 'Spell Focus' with your Theme spells. That'd give a +2 DC.
